You can discover the sculptures that this brilliant artist has made with pieces from Louis Vuitton in the new space of the firm in El Corte Inglés de Castellana in Madrid

Continuing its historic relationship with the art world, and after the recent store reopening at El Corte Inglés de Castellana in Madrid last June, the new Louis Vuitton space in Madrid will host up to 16 October the work of the artista Billie Achilleos.

In commemoration of the 100º Louis Vuitton small leather goods anniversary, la
British artist has created a new serie of sculptures in the form of animals built from different pieces of small leather goods. Achilleos' collaboration with Louis Vuitton is not new as some twenty of his sculptures were also exhibited in the Louis Vuitton stores on New Bond Street in London., and on Fifth Avenue in New York.

«I'm the type of person who sees photos in the clouds of the sky, or in the soap bubbles in the bathtub«, explica Achilleos. «I often think I see faces in the floral patterns on the wallpaper. When I started this project I went to a Louis Vuitton store and I looked for animal shapes in the bags«. As if they were truly there and he only had to open his eyes to see it. that a Damier Graphite canvas keychain was, de hecho, the hoof of a beaver. Or that any other item in Monogram canvas was the leg of a grasshopper. «There is no preconceived design«, he comments. «There is a pile of bags and small leather goods in front of me, and a few hours later, it's a frog«.
