I loved the good vibes that breathed the idea as soon as I saw it. Sí, are t-shirts, pero… who said a t-shirt can't have personality?, whoever said it, we can only refer it to the popular proverb, and confess that there is always a broken one for an unstitched one… or place for an original t-shirt.

We speak with David Perez, from Roto y dessida a t-shirt firm where, through minimalist designs and small details, they manage to bring out all the iconic potential that a t-shirt can have..

– ¿There is always a broken one for a unstitched one? ¿Where does the idea come from??, ¿and the name?

Well, we want to think so., We live in a world of complementary, although we do not always find them easily. The idea of the brand arises from that feeling of incompleteness that we seem to have and from proverbs and play with words, so they can produce, to remember, generate…

– ¿how is it born, grows and reproduces broken and unstitched?

Born from the interest in design and the search for a simple platform on which to develop it. A t-shirt is something that always generates interactions with what surrounds you, who looks at you with.

grow little by little, as a modest project that is exploring its distribution possibilities, Design and manufacturing, from cut vinyl to direct printing on fabric, which begins to change our view on the custom object.

– freshness and simplicity ¿your style could be defined like this?

That's what we like to think. We don't want something very designed and complex, but a reference to an idea, a song or anything else through a simple and interesting drawing, or just a text, what is needed each time. This, together with the printing costs of a vinyl t-shirt, leads us to work with the minimum, a color or two as a general rule.

– ¿How to stand out in a t-shirt? (in a field so exploited)

Well, in principle, it is not complicated.. It is about telling something or insinuating a story behind it. Something in another language or visually resounding always makes me curious to know if there is a story behind it, of who wears it or who has designed it. A story that links to other stories.

– You offer various possibilities within the same design ¿why do you do it? ¿promote diversity? ¿Allow for more adaptation?

Sí, In general, we are interested in the product having a customization part as far as production allows us.. Being able to choose the color of the garment within a few options seems like a good start.. Because it is something that you cannot always do in a physical store and that the internet does allow us..

– ¿Let's say that your thing then is the creation of "Logos" and images? Have you thought about capturing them beyond t-shirts??

Imagery, more than logos. Well, in principle we do not plan to change support, we like the t-shirt as a simple and cheap garment that can be worn by everyone, something that in itself has no importance or is understood as a luxury, but to whom we have all had a special affection at some point in our lives, either because we bought it at a concert or because someone interesting gave it to us. We wear them until they fall apart and wear them as pajamas for years because they get softer over time..

– ¿How do you solve the design so that it "combines” with as many colors as possible?

Simplicity and few colors (black or white as a rule). The color should be put by the shirt itself and the taste of each one. There is not much mystery.

– Confessed which is the most successful… and in what colors?

Undoubtedly ´Ode to German Joy´, which was the beginning of all this and the one that is linked to all the good things that have happened since then. The yellow color strangely has worked very well.

– ¿What have been the greatest satisfactions so far??

Getting to translate your ideas into something simple that is sold in cities you do not know and that gets people you will never meet…

– ¿What future plans do you have?? ¿to where it goes broken and unstitched?

We would like to set up a physical store where we can experiment with how to sell t-shirts and manage to offer cheaper and quality garments over the internet.… because we believe there is a future in this…

now that you know them, do not hesitate to enter their website and see all the designs they have, It will be almost irresistible for you to contain yourself with any of them.
