Its striking logo was what first conquered me ¿How could something so simple and minimalist convey so many ideas and feelings?? That minimal bow tie opened the door to a world of spectacular designs, only, interesting, conscientious and different without losing trends. Se trata de Anthony Garcia, a firm that has managed to transfer elegance and know-how to its creations. I introduce you to its creator in this interview, so you can get to know this design genius better.
– ¿Where does Antonio García come from and where is he going??
What Antonio García is today comes from years of work in different modalities within the world of moda: sewing, ready-at-porter, own studio…And thanks to this baggage, the ins and outs of this world are mastered. We are going towards a point of increasing recognition and we expect the growth of the current lines: atelier y ready-at-porter and the creation of new ones.
– ¿What are the words that define the brand and its creator?
new elegance. Classicism revisited from a young and fresh perspective.
– ¿Why did you enter the fashion world?? ¿What do you like the most about it and what do you like the least??
I entered in a natural way, My mother is a dressmaker and I grew up in a sewing workshop environment.. What I like most about fashion is practically everything (except the financial part and the purely business). I love parades and everything they imply: castings, fitings, shootings, etc.
I don't like too much either. ¿necessary? temporality of the collections. I create and defend more timeless options.
– ¿What is your aesthetic ideal?? ¿Who or what inspires you to create??
In my aesthetic world a mixture of classicism coexists, environment and sewing technical bases, love for good fabrics and finishes. contemporaneity, constant presence of key fashion moments: años 40,50, 60. certain naive touch, minimalism clean shapes and lines and a constant and absolute search for beauty.
I am inspired by life, in the women who surround me and in those who don't. In the music, el cine, and a lot in the fashion world itself.
– Tell us about your first projects and their evolution.
My first projects, already far away, were always consistent with the moment I was living and above all with its possibilities.. The evolution has been above all coherent and consistent.
– And now let's talk about today. tell us what you are doing
The current projects are to promote the work of atelier, expand market with respect to ready-at-porter, grow in presence in specialized media and we are studying the option of online sales.
– Princess Portrait, ¿What does it mean and what does it intend to convey??
It tries to mix the aristocratic and sophisticated environment with a very current and fresh vision. This is where absolutely contemporary and real princesses are born.
– ¿How can we get an Antonio García?
In our studio-atelier in Seville we make personalized orders: girlfriends, events, etc. We also give the opportunity to purchase models from our collection ready-at-porter. Which is also available at DF Station in Madrid, Suite in Islaantilla and Lepe in Huelva and Dolores in Jerez. We are also expanding our multi-brand network, so we hope we can add many outlets to this list.
– ¿For when something of a man?
We really like the idea of a men's line. We do not rule it out, but for now we want to strengthen the feminine.
ABOUT FASHION IN SPAIN
– ¿How do you see the world of fashion design in Spain today??
Mixed and convulsed as for years. The basic problem of industrial infrastructure remains. The little designer-industry relationship; the poor commercial culture in terms of sales distribution, logistics, etc.
– ¿Who are your favorite designers/creators??
Nationals: Palace and Font . And foreigners the old Ferré, McQueen, Michael Kors and Giambattista Valli.
– Could you tell us something new?, any project you have in hand
As we have been commenting, our efforts are focused on a greater presence of the brand in the commercial network, both multi-brand and with our own online store.
First of all, I would like to thank Antonio García for the opportunity that El Señor de las Gafas Amarillas has given to be able to present his vision of fashion..

He is a wonderful designer, with an incredible technique.
It makes the woman feel super feminine.
And besides my city, almost nothing should be imposed on our national geniuses that we have many.
